Panel discussion on current challenges and possible solutions in logistics and supply chain

On May 6, Caucasus University hosted a panel discussion on the Joint Master's Program in Digital Logistics Management of the Technical University of Applied Sciences (TH Wildau) and Caucasus University, entitled "Challenges and Opportunities in the Regional Logistics and Supply Chain Sector"

 

Invited speakers at the event were: Herbert Sonntag, Research group transport logistics lecturer and PhD, Technical University of Applied Sciences, TH Wildau; Irakli Tsankashvili, CEO of Logistics Solutions; Mikheil Namadov, Director of Kairos Logistics; Giorgi Eristavi, PepsiCo Director; Merab Zhgenti, Head of Business Development and Marketing Department at Diplomat; Giorgi Doborjginidze, Head of Digital Logistics Management Master Program and Chairman of the Logistics Association.

 

The event was also attended by: the delegation of TH Wildau, (who are on a business visit to Caucasus University in Georgia, within the framework of the joint master's program in digital logistics management); representatives of leading transport and logistics companies in Georgia and other honored guests.

 

The following issues were discussed at the panel: current challenges in the global and regional logistics market and Georgia's potential as a regional logistics hub; the role of digital technologies in logistics and the importance of professional staff for the development of the logistics sector.

 

The panel discussion was part of a new joint master's program in digital logistics management from the Technical University of Applied Sciences, TH Wildau and Caucasus University. The program issues a joint diploma and is supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and is in collaboration with the Georgian Logistics Association (GLA).

 

It should be noted that TH Wildau University is the leading university in the field of logistics in Germany, on the land of Brandenburg, near Berlin. It is one of the most innovative educational-scientific centers in Germany, and was named one of the top five scientific institutions in Germany last year. It focuses on theoretical and practical knowledge of the relationship between business administration and technical disciplines, as well as the latest information and communication technologies.
