Caucasus University hosted a student workshop within the framework of the Erasmus+ CBHE project ENRICHER Hubs - “Designing Green Tourism Concept through Learning”. The event aimed to familiarize students with the principles of sustainable tourism and develop practical skills in service design, teamwork and problem-solving.
The meeting opened with a presentation of the ENRICHER Hubs project, followed by a session on sustainability in tourism. Participants discussed indicators related to sustainable development goals and the economic, ecological and socio-cultural impact of tourism.
Students participated in various group activities, including:
- Analysis of positive and negative impacts of tourism on the example of Kutaisi;
- Study of the basics of service design and user-centered research methods;
- Analysis of tourism challenges through a research wall on the example of Telavi;
- Generation of innovative ideas and their presentation, on which students received feedback from local and European mentors.
The meeting ended with a review of the planned next activities, including a service design course and green tourism business challenges, which will be implemented within the framework of the ENRICHER Hubs project.
The event brought together students from different countries, as well as mentors representing local and European universities. Participants were introduced to the main concepts of sustainability and opportunities for developing innovative approaches to green tourism.
