On November 26, at Caucasus University, organized by CU’s International Center for Georgian Studies, a public lecture and discussion was held with Rusudan Kobakhidze on the topic “The Anatomy of Soviet Propaganda.”
Rusudan Kobakhidze is a visiting lecturer at Ilia State University and Caucasus University, as well as a researcher at the Laboratory for the Study of the Soviet Past (SovLab).
The public lecture examined the key features of Soviet propagandistic language and the methods through which the Soviet regime sought to control mass consciousness, reshape values, and influence the worldview of society.
The discussion focused on Soviet propaganda language as a tool of political power that, within a totalitarian regime, fosters a dichotomous perception of the world—dividing it into “us” and “enemies.”
