12 July 2024

The Caucasus Education School, within the framework of the elementary pedagogy program and in partnership with Abkhazia #2 public school, held the third discussion round on July 9 of this year on the topic "Cultural Awareness and Expression Competence and Student's Perspectives in the Labor Market."

The discussion took place within the framework of the project "Key Competencies of Learning and Student Perspectives on the Labor Market - 2024," using the Harkness method. This project aims to optimally introduce key competencies of lifelong learning in teacher training programs.

The meeting was held in the format of parallel discussions using the Harkness method, involving teachers, administration representatives, parents, students, and elementary pedagogy students of Caucasus University. The process was facilitated by Aluda Goglichidze, Dean of the Caucasus Education School, affiliated associate professor, and head of the Integrated Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Program for Teachers of Primary Education (grades I-VI).

At the final stage of the discussion, participants explored the role of the school community and related interest groups—including employers, school teachers, school administrators, students, parents, professors, and experts/field representatives from the non-governmental sector—in lifelong learning teacher training programs. The focus was on implementing key competencies, particularly "cultural awareness and expressive competence."

The discussion round was held in the building of Public School #2 of Abkhazia.
