From 5 to 17 October, the DAAD-funded program “AI meets Arts” was successfully implemented within the framework of cooperation between Caucasus University and the University of Applied Sciences Amberg-Weiden (OTH-AW).

The summer school was conducted in two stages: the first at Caucasus University and the second at the University of Applied Sciences Amberg-Weiden (OTH-AW) in Germany. The programme included lectures, practical seminars, and a hackathon focusing on contemporary developments in artificial intelligence.

The academic programme was led by Professor Tatyana Ivanovska of OTH Amberg-Weiden, who was joined on the teaching team by her colleague Professor Gerald Pirkl. Caucasus University’s School of Technology was represented by Professor Rati Skhirtladze, Head of the Computer Science and AI programme, who lectured on large language models and vision-language models, and by Professor Guram Shvangiradze, who lectured on neural networks and convolutional models for image analysis.

Throughout the programme, participants developed practical skills, worked on team projects, and presented their work during the final stage of the hackathon. Cultural activities in Georgia and Germany were also an important part of the summer school, encouraging experience-sharing among participants and strengthening international cooperation.

The programme contributed to strengthening academic collaboration between the two universities and exploring the potential of artificial intelligence in creative fields.
