Forum of New Urban Topologies

On October 14-17, Caucasus University hosted a "Forum of New Urban Topologies". Professors and students of Caucasus School of Technology, Architecture program participated in an interesting project with foreign colleagues, which included:

 

Scientific conference on "City Identity", creative tour in the city - visiting problematic locations related to the issues discussed in the panel discussions in Tbilisi, in the framework of group work planning Färgfabriken's (Art gallery in a former paint factory offering contemporary exhibits & cultural events) project "Symbiosis" led by Joachim Granit and Daniel Urey (Sweden) and a student workshop on "Symbiosis in an Urban Environment".

 

The student groups were led by representatives of the Caucasus University undergraduate program in Architecture, Doctor of Architecture, Professor Marika Pochkhua, Architect Giorgi Gabunia, as well as Director of the Mostar Architecture, Arts Center (ADA), Head of Mostar Planning Service Senada Demirovic, and NUT Ukrainian coordinator of "Puzzle", employee of the architectural service "arch.id" Berlin, architect Vasilisa Schogoleva.

 

Participating in the panel discussion on the main issues of Tbilisi urban planning:

 

Hans Guner Aden, former Swedish Ambassador to Georgia; Joachim Granit, Creative Director, Färgfabriken (Art gallery in a former paint factory offering contemporary exhibits & cultural events); Carl Hartzell, Ambassador of the European Union; Erik Illes Head of Development Cooperation and Deputy Head of SIDA;

 

Representatives of Caucasus University: Marina Maisuradze, Giorgi Tsanatskhenishvili, Marika Pochkhua, Merab Bolkvadze, Giorgi Gabunia.
