EU ERASMUS + PROJECT, “DESIGNING GREEN TOURISM CONCEPT THROUGH LEARNING”, VISIT IN HELSINKI, FINLAND

On February 26-28, within the framework of the Erasmus + Capacity Building in Higher Education project - Designing Green Tourism Concept through Learning (ENRICHER-HUBS) consortium kick-off meeting was held at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences - Pasila campus.

 

The event was attended by partner universities from Georgia and Moldova, also representatives of European universities – The University of Genova (Italy) and The Entrepreneurial School  MCI (Austria). From Caucasus University, Vice President for Internationalization - Irena Melua, Director of Projects Management Department - Akaki Kapanadze, Dean of Caucasus School of Tourism – Diko Kopaleishvili and Professor of Caucasus School of Tourism – Giorgi Bregadze attended the meetings.

 

Several working sessions were held at the meeting, the consortium members presented their universities and discussed their experience in promoting the development of green tourism, discussed the plans of the working groups within the framework of the project and agreed on the procedures related to the effective management of the project. In addition, the event participants had the opportunity to visit important sustainable tourist destinations, including the sea fortress of Suomenlinna, where they also attended a lecture on the history of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and sustainable tourism.

 

The objective of the project “Designing Green Tourism Concepts Through Learning” is to improve the capacity of green tourism service development and experiential learning to better match the industry needs of future employees. The project also aims at increasing regional development and cooperation with the industry, of which European universities of applied sciences can provide good industry baseline for Moldova and Georgia.
