Kakha Shengelia's visit to Fairleigh Dickinson University

The President of Caucasus University, Dr. Kakha Shengelia is on a business visit to the United States, where he will meet with representatives of partner universities.

 

This time, Dr. Shengelia was at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He was hosted by the President of the partner university, Christopher A. Capuano.

 

It is noteworthy that Caucasus University, together with Fairleigh Dickinson University, is implementing a joint undergraduate program in Hospitality Management for the first time in the Georgian educational space. The program is unique because it is the first 3-year bachelor program in Georgia, which issues a double diploma from two universities.

 

The universities have been cooperating and actively implementing exchange programs since 2014. Also, in 2021, an academic cooperation agreement was signed between the universities to develop joint programs.

 

The main purpose of the visit is to discuss the details of the double degree program, as well as to get acquainted with the infrastructure and services that Georgian students will enjoy during their stay in the United States.

 

During the visit, a number of working meetings were held with the President of Fairleigh Dickinson University, which were also attended by the University Provost - Michael Avaltroni and Vice Provost for International Affairs - Jason Scorza.

 

Fairleigh Dickinson University is one of the most successful and leading New Jersey universities in the United States, occupying a leading position in international rankings. It has received international level accreditations such as: AASBC, TedQual. The TedQual certification system is one of the highest standards in the world in tourism education, training and research administered by the MTO Academy.

 

Also, the International School of Hospitality, Sports and Tourism Management at Fairleigh Dickinson University was named one of the best programs in the country in the 2020 college rankings. In addition, the program ranked: sixth on TheBestSchools.org's list of hosting management programs in the country in 2019; CEOWORLD Magazine ranked it fifth in the world's annual Best Hospitality and Hotel Management Schools rankings; In 2016, it was in the list of Princeton School's 15 best four-year hospitality management programs in the “Gourman Report”; According to a survey by SuccessfulStudent.org, it ranked sixth on the list of the 25 best hosting colleges in the country.

 

Today, Fairleigh Dickinson University combines more than 100 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs that provide multidisciplinary, intercultural, and ethical knowledge.
