The publication "Tourism Satellite Accounts in Europe - 2023 Edition" is published by Eurostat for the first time after several years of hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The report covers data from almost all EU countries. Tourism satellite accounts are used to measure the exact economic effects of tourism industries. It consists of ten tables and a lot of statistical data is needed to create a complete picture. The role of the Caucasus University professor in this publication was data evaluation and validation along with other leading experts, his involvement as an expert in this publication stems from his many years of experience.
Caucasus University professor Giorgi Bregadze has many years of experience in the development of tourism satellite accounts. He is the former Vice-Chairman of the Statistics and Satellite Accounts Committee of the World Tourism Organization, and served as the Chief of the Research and Planning Department of the National Tourism Administration for ten years. He actively cooperated with Geostat in order to develop the first four tables of satellite accounts of tourism in Georgia. In addition, he developed the methodology of the Ukrainian tourism statistics system within the framework of a World Bank project.
