On April 20–24, within the framework of the Erasmus+ Teaching Mobility Program, Dr. Irakli Shamatava, Affiliated Associate Professor at Caucasus University and Editor-in-Chief of a scientific journal, visited the Faculty of Law and Economics at Kazimierz Wielki University in Poland.

During the visit, Dr. Shamatava delivered a series of lectures on “General Overview of the Functions of the Notarial System in Europe: A Comparative Analysis.”

As part of the exchange program, Dr. Shamatava introduced Polish students and academic staff to the Georgian notarial system, outlining its development from the post-Soviet period to the present day. Drawing on a comparative perspective, he also discussed the experience of civil law countries and the practice of the Latin-type notarial system.

Particular attention was devoted to notarial writs of execution and the growing role of digital technologies, with examples drawn from both the Polish and Georgian contexts.

Within the framework of the program, Professor Shamatava also held meetings with representatives of the university administration, staff members of the International Relations Office, and Professor Dr. Adam Jakuszewicz.

During the visit, Dr. Shamatava toured the university’s facilities and became acquainted with its library resources, international scientific electronic databases, and book collections. The parties discussed opportunities to further strengthen inter-university cooperation and develop future partnership initiatives.

At the conclusion of the visit, Dr. Irakli Shamatava was awarded a certificate confirming his participation in the Erasmus+ exchange program.
