On April 22-24, 2024, the training "EU and Legal Europeanization of Georgia" was held at Samtskhe-Javakheti State University. The three-day training was prepared by Caucasus University professors Ekaterine Kardava and Guranda Chelidze within the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet module "Europeanization of law programs in Georgia" (Jean Monnet Module: 101084764 — EU-LP-GE). The module aims to strengthen European Studies in Georgia, including strengthening the knowledge of regional students and academic staff in cooperation with Samtskhe-Javakheti University.

Within the framework of the training, professors Guranda Chelidze and Ekaterine Kardava touched on such issues as: the dynamics of Georgia-EU relations, the Association Agreement, the essence of legal approximation, the establishment and expansion of the European Union, the 2023 EU enlargement package, the Copenhagen criteria and others.

As part of the training, proposals and recommendations were prepared by the students of Samtskhe-Javakheti University - how to teach the EU in regional population and ethnic minority. Feedback from regional youth on this issue provides an opportunity to better understand and develop the methodology and content of EU studies.

During the training days, a meeting was held with the Rector of Samtskhe-Javakheti State University Mrs. Maka Beridze and Vice-Rector Mr. Merab Beridze. They talked about the news of the university's educational and scientific-research activities and expressed readiness for further close cooperation between Caucasus University and Samtskhe-Javakheti State University.
