On November 30, the "Universiade of Georgia 2022" award ceremony was held in the Tbilisi City Council, at the initiative of the Sports and Youth Issues Commission of the City Council.
Saba Maglakelidze, a student of Caucasus University, won first place in the chess tournament. The university congratulates Saba on his success and thanks all the students who competed on behalf of CU.
"Universiade of Georgia 2022" was held from October 20 to November 20 with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia and the organization of the Georgian University Sports Federation. Within the framework of the project, competitions were held in 13 types of sports, where about 5,000 students from 34 higher education institutions authorized in Georgia participated. Medals, cups, certificates and symbolic gifts were given to the winners of the prize place.
Mayor Kakha Kaladze, Chairman of the Sports and Youth Issues Commission of the City Council Giorgi Chakvetadze, Chairman of the City Council Giorgi Tkemaladze and Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Nunu Mitskevich addressed the public at the event. The event was also attended by members of the City Council, legislative and executive authorities, heads of higher educational institutions and representatives of student self-governments.
