Education Leadership and Management

The Master's program in Education Leadership and Management at the Caucasus Education School is designed to prepare education management professionals who can address the demands of sustainable development, labor market needs, and navigate contemporary challenges in the field. The program will prepare a highly qualified cadre who view education as a public good and recognize equal access to education as a fundamental human right.

 

The program aims to develop strategic, development-driven leaders with strongethical values who are capable of:

 

  1. Leading change, designing and implementing education programs and projects that align with sustainable development goals, take into account local context as well as global trends and are grounded in evidense-based decision making;
  2. Establishing a democratic and inclusive governance system, fostering a positive organizational culture, upholding high standards of accountability, and promoting organizational growth through effective communication;
  3. Ensuring that the organization achieves its goals and objectives by utilizing available resources effectively and efficiantly;
  4. Prioritizing continuous professional development of their teams, maintaining high ethical standards and uniting staff around shared values and goals.

 

Concentrations

 

Students have the opportunity to choose between two concentration areas:

 

  1. Preschool and General Education (PreK-12)
  2. Vocational and Higher Education

The program combines theoretical and practical learning, while also fostering strong research skills;

  • A growing network of partner organizations, which includes preschool, general education, vocational, and higher education institutions, as well as organizations working on education issues.

 

Employment Opportunities

 

The Master's program graduates will be able to work in:

 

  • PreK-12 schools, vocational or higher education institutions in the private, non-governmental, or public sector;
  • Local or international organizations operating in the field of education;
  • Government agencies, both at the central and local government levels, responsible for education.

 

Language of Instruction - The program’s language of instruction is Georgian.  

The Master's program in Education Leadership and Management consists of 120 ECTS credits, divided over four semesters, each worth 30 ECTS credits. The standard duration of the program is two academic years (the maximum allowed duration is five academic years).

 

The program offers the following two concentrations: (1) Preschool and general education (PreK-12) and (2) vocational and higher education.

 

The distribution of credits within the program is as follows:

 

  • Mandatory courses for both concentrations – 25 ECTS credits;
  • Mandatory courses for Preschool and General Education (PreK-12) concentration – 35 ECTS credits;
  • Mandatory courses for Vocational and Higher Education concentration – 35 ECTS credits;
  • Research Design – 15 ECTS credits;
  • Mandatory-elective course – 10 ECTS credits;
  • Free credit – 5 ECTS credits;
  • Master's thesis - 30 ECTS credits.

The admission requirements for the Master's Program in Education Leadership and Management are as follows:

 

  • A Bachelor's degree;
  • The Unified Master's Exam;
  • An internal university exam specific to the program at the Caucasus Education School, which includes an assessment of English comprehension and writing skills at the B2 level1 - Sample Test;
  • An interview with the admissions committee of the Caucasus School of Education2;

 

1 An applicant may be exempt from this admissions requirement if they meet the following criteria: (a) they present a certificate demonstrating English proficiency at the B2 level (TOEFL, IELTS, CAE, TOEIC, FCF (Grades A and B), CPE, etc., provided its validity is confirmed). If a transcript provided confirms English proficiency at the B2 level or if an applicant has completed a Bachelor's or Master's program taught in English, they will be exempt from submitting an English language certificate as well as from taking the internal university exam.

 

2 After the document verification process, applicants will have an interview with the admissions committee at the Caucasus School of Education. The committee will evaluate candidates based on the following criteria:

 

  • Motivation for developing competencies in educational leadership and management
  • Analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and communication skills
  • Reflection on undergraduate or other educational experiences
  • Work experience in the field of education (preference will be given in case of equal qualifications)

 

When a student transfers to the program through mobility, the program director and the dean of the school will conduct a thorough evaluation, taking into account the previously outlined conditions. The decision will be made in accordance with the internal regulations of Caucasus University.

 

Documents To Be Submitted:

 

  • The notarized copies of a diploma, a transcript, or a certificate indicating the date and order number of the degree conferral;
  • A copy of the ID document;
  • NAEC card;
  • 2 passport-sized photos (also recorded on a CD);
  • A copy of the military registration card (for male applicants);
  • CV / Resume;
  • Motivation letter (no less than 400 words and no more than 600 words);
  • A letter of recommendation;
  • An online registration form.

 

Application Deadlines:

 

  • Deadline for completing online registration: September 2, 2026
  • Deadline for submitting documents: September 4, 18:00, 2026
  • English language exam (if applicable) / Exam for CU grant: September 8, 2026
  • Interview with selected candidates: September 10, 2026
  • Tuition Fee – 9,990 GEL. The tuition fee is paid per semester based on the number of credits taken.

 

CU Grant

 

Students have the opportunity to fund a study with a CU grant along with a state grant. The CU grant covers 50% of the total tuition fee.

 

There are two ways to qualify for the CU grant:

 

  1. If you are a graduate or will soon graduate from any university's undergraduate program and you have a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher.
  2. If you have scored 65% or more of the maximum possible score on the Unified Master’s Exams.
  3. If you meet at least one of the above-mentioned criteria, you will have the opportunity to participate in the grant competition and secure funding.

Caucasus University offers 10% funding for CU graduates, whose GPA is lower than 3,5.
