Education Leadership and Management

The Master's program in Education Leadership and Management at the Caucasus Education School is dedicated to preparing education management professionals who are equipped to meet the demands of sustainable development, the labor market, and contemporary challenges in the field, who regard education as a public good, an essential instrument for fostering general welfare and societal progress, and who recognize equal access to education as a fundamental right for all individuals.

 

The program aims to prepare professionals who are development- and results-oriented, think critically, positively, and strategically, possess innovative visions and uphold ethical values, and who:

 

  1. Are change agents, lead transformational processes and development plans for educational organizations, design academic programs and projects that align with sustainable development goals, consider local economic, social, cultural, political, and legal context as well as international trends in the field, and base their decisions on evidence.
  2. Create a democratic and inclusive governance system, promote a positive organizational culture and high standards of accountability, and ensure the continuous development of both the organization and society through effective communication.
  3. Ensure the effective implementation of the educational organization's goals, plans, programs, and projects by optimally utilizing available human, material, educational, and technological resources.
  4. Equally prioritize their continuous professional development and that of their colleagues, adhere to high academic standards and professional ethics, promote employee engagement and motivation, encourage unity around common goals, maximize employees’ potential, and ensure they remain committed regardless of challenges and obstacles.

 

Concentrations

 

Students have the opportunity to choose between two concentration areas:

 

  1. Preschool and General Education (PreK-12)
  2. Vocational and High Education

  • The Master's program in Education Leadership and Management focuses on developing the leadership and management skills necessary for the effective functioning of organizations in today's rapidly changing and highly competitive world, emphasizes change management and transformational leadership, combines both theoretical and practical learning, and fosters research skills.
  • Highly qualified professionals with theoretical, research, and practical experience who are involved in the management and implementation of the program.
  • A network of partner organizations including preschools, schools, vocational and higher education institutions as well as private, governmental, and non-governmental organizations.

 

Employment Opportunities

 

The Master's program graduates will be able to work in:

 

  • PreK-12 schools, vocational or higher education institutions in the private, non-governmental, or public sector;
  • Local or international organizations operating in the field of education;
  • Government agencies, local or central, responsible for education.

 

Language of Instruction

 

The program’s language of instruction is Georgian.  

The Master's program in Education Leadership and Management consists of 120 ECTS credits, divided over four semesters, each worth 30 ECTS credits. The standard duration of the program is two academic years (the maximum allowed duration is five academic years).

 

The program has the following two concentrations: (1) Preschool and general education (PreK-12) and (2) vocational and high education.

 

The distribution of credits within the program is as follows:

 

  • Mandatory courses for both concentrations – 25 ECTS credits;
  • Mandatory courses for Preschool and General Education (PreK-12) concentration – 35 ECTS credits;
  • Mandatory courses for Vocational and Higher Education concentration – 35 ECTS credits;
  • Research Design – 15 ECTS credits;
  • Mandatory-elective course – 10 ECTS credits;
  • Free credit – 5 ECTS credits;
  • Master's thesis - 30 ECTS credits.

The admission requirements for the Master's Program in Education Leadership and Management are as follows:

 

 

  • A Bachelor's degree;
  • The Unified Master's Exam;
  • An internal university exam specific to the program at the Caucasus Education School, which includes an assessment of English comprehension and writing skills at the B2 level;
  • An interview with the admissions committee of the Caucasus School of Education.

 

An applicant may be exempt from this admissions requirement if they meet the following criteria: (a) they present a certificate demonstrating English proficiency at the B2 level (TOEFL, IELTS, CAE, TOEIC, FCF (Grades A and B), CPE, etc. provided its validity is confirmed). If a transcript provided confirms English proficiency at the B2 level or if an applicant has completed a Bachelor's or Master's program taught in English they will be exempt from submitting an English language certificate as well as from taking the internal university exam.

 

After the document verification process, applicants will have an interview with the admissions committee at the Caucasus School of Education. The committee will evaluate candidates based on the following criteria:

 

  • Motivation for developing competencies in educational leadership and management;
  • Analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and communication skills;
  • Reflection on undergraduate or other educational experiences;
  • Work experience in the field of education (preference will be given in case of equal qualifications).

 

If a student transfers to the program through mobility, the program director and the dean of the school will evaluate the situation, considering the abovementioned conditions. The final decision will be made based on the internal regulations of Caucasus University.

 

Documents To Be Submitted:

 

  • The notarized copies of a diploma and a transcript or a certificate indicating the date and order number of the degree conferral
  • A copy of the ID document
  • NAEC card
  • 2 passport-sized photos (also recorded on a CD)
  • A copy of the military registration card (for male applicants)
  • CV / Resume
  • Motivation letter (no less than 400 words and no more than 600 words)
  • A letter of recommendation
  • An online registration form

 

Application Deadlines:

 

  • Deadline for completing online registration: September 2, 2025
  • Deadline for submitting documents: September 4, 18:00, 2025
  • English language exam (if applicable) / Exam for CU grant: September 8, 2025
  • Interview with selected candidates: September 10, 2025

 

Tuition Fee – 9,990 GEL. The tuition fee is paid per semester based on the number of credits taken.

 

CU Grant

 

Students have the opportunity to fund a study with a CU grant along with a state grant. The CU grant covers 50% of the total tuition fee.

There are two ways to qualify for the CU grant:

 

  1. If you are a graduate or will soon graduate from any university's undergraduate program and you have a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher.
  2. If you have scored 65% or more of the maximum possible score on the Unified Master’s Exams.

 

If you meet at least one of the above-mentioned criteria, you will have the opportunity to participate in the grant competition and secure funding.
