Workshop for applicants - Social Engineering Attacks, Techniques, and Prevention Methods

On November 28, at the Caucasus University, a workshop was held for applicants interested in cybersecurity on the topic: Social Engineering Attacks, Techniques, and Prevention Methods.

 

The workshop was conducted by Dr. Abdullah Alhayajneh, Assistant Professor of Cyber ​​Security and Co-Chair of the Department of Professional Security Studies at New Jersey City University.

 

Social engineering is an umbrella term for methods of attacks that cyber criminals use, which rely heavily on human interaction. These attacks often involve manipulating victims into breaking security practices and having them provide confidential information that may be used for fraudulent purposes.

 

Social engineering attacks, types of social engineering, techniques and methods of their prevention were discussed at the workshop.

 

Dr. Abdullah Alhayajneh’s research focuses on IoT Privacy and Security, Wireless Security, Network Security, WBAN Security, and Biometric Authentication.

 

Dr. Alhayajneh has published in several peer-reviewed journals and presented at several IEEE Conferences on Cybersecurity and Cloud Computing Technology. Dr. Alhayajneh has over seventeen years of experience in Security and Information Technology in both academia and industry. After several years of working for the United Nations, he became the Data Reporting and Information Technology supervisor for South Asia and lead the IT missions in the Middle East and North Asia for the United Nations.
