CU Educational Tour to Greece

Students of Caucasus University were on an educational tour in Athens, Greece, together with the President of the university, Dr. Kakha Shengelia.

 

The tour in Athens, Greece, organized for students from Caucasus University, included visits to various cultural and historical landmarks, such as the Acropolis, Acropolis Museum, Olympic Stadium, The Arch of Hadrian, Anafiotika, Syntagma, Botanical Garden, Psiri, Delphi, Sounion, Corinth Canal, Mycenae, Epidaurus, Nafplio, Archaeological Museum, Benaki Museum, and Ancient Olympia. The students had the opportunity to explore the rich history and mythology of Greece during the tour, led by Hellenist and translator Tatia Mtvarelidze.

 

During the tour, the students also visited the Greek-Georgian Institute and the cultural and educational center "Caucasus," founded by the renowned Georgian Hellenist Avtandil Mikaberidze, an honorary doctor of Caucasus University. President Dr. Kakha Shengelia presented gifts to the representatives of the center. He also held an informational meeting with Georgian immigrants living in Athens on the topic - "Opportunities of receiving higher education in Georgia for immigrants living abroad".

 

It is noteworthy that, at the initiative of Dr. Kakha Shengelia, two immigrants living in Athens were chosen to have the opportunity to study at Caucasus University completely free of charge and then be employed in their respective professions in Georgia.

 

During the meeting, Meri Khvichia, the Head of the Student and Organizational Events Service at CU, conducted an informational meeting about Caucasus University. The attendees were introduced to the history of the university, existing programs, future plans and others.

 

As part of the educational tour, various educational and entertaining activities were held, in which the president of the university presented CU branded items and other gifts to the winning students.
