Panel Discussion - "Cyber Security as an Educational and Career Development Opportunity"

On March 30, British and Georgian experts visited Caucasus University as part of the "Women in Cyber" initiative. The topic of the meeting was: "Cyber Security as an Educational and Career Development Opportunity".

 

Speakers: Joelle Choueifati - Gender Advisor; Nata Goderdzishvili - Cyber Security Expert; Richard Kane - Security Consultant. Also, RUSI research findings (gender perspective) were presented by Natia Seskuria - Director, RISS and Tatia Chikhladze - Senior Researcher, RISS.

 

The educational sessions aim to increase student awareness of the growing potential of cybersecurity and the opportunities in the cybersecurity job market. The meeting also discussed basic principles and practices of cyber hygiene, global trends and challenges

 

The main purpose of the educational sessions is to increase the involvement of girls in the cyber security sector, given the growing demand in the global cyber security job market, to demonstrate employment opportunities in this field, and to encourage their future careers in STEM, more specifically in the field of cyber security.
